Description of scenes
Description of scenes
The purpose of
this day was to re film the footage which my team members and I had filmed on
our third day of filming. Our filming took place at Great Cambridge roundabout
and Tottenham cemetery.
The clips that we had filmed today will be present at the
introduction and conclusion of our music video.
The protagonist of our music video is featured in all of
the scenes that we had filmed on this day. This had meant that Leyon was
required to act throughout the whole process of our filming while I, Michael
and Tyrell took turns on operating the camera. In addition to camera operating,
we also instructed Leyon on how to perform his role.
The introduction of our storyboards will begin with the
protagonist approaching the edge of a roof with the intention of jumping off
it. The storyline of our video will
then flashback to the protagonist’s life prior to this point in time.
The following
scenes will present the Everyday life of the protagonist as he is shown to be
very depressed in every aspect of his life. These scenes will in show the
events which led up to the protagonist wanting to commit suicide as they
conclude with Leyon's character on the rooftop where the introduction scene
took place.
The conclusion
scene will begin with on the rooftop as the protagonist is about to jump off.
Another character (played by Tyrell) will then run towards the protagonist to
prevent him from carrying out his suicide.
This character
is a friend of the protagonist who had followed him to the roof to stop him
from killing himself.
The protagonist then sees his friend and then moves away
from the edge of the roof. At this point it is evident that the protagonist has
decided not to carry out his suicide attempt.
This segment then concludes our music video in the state of
New Equilibrium as the protagonist is no longer in danger.
We had initially planned to film these segments in Wood
Green since that was the location that we had used previously on our third day
of filming. Unfortunately our previous filming location was no longer available
to us. This had meant we were required to pick another setting to film our
project.
Previously my team had a discussion about the different
locations we could use to carry out our filming. In our planning we decided to
use a location in Wood Green as our primary location and Great Cambridge
roundabout as a substitute location.
On our way to the roundabout, we decided to visit Tottenham
cemetery first in order to re film the scenes which take place in the Cemetery
setting. We chose to film in this location first since the cemetery was closer
to our current location and would be more time effective for our shooting
schedule.
We then decided to travel to Edmonton to carry out our filming on the roundabout. My team found this location to be a better location to use since there is a narrow bridge in-between the roundabout which acts as a walkway. This bridge would be ideal to film our introduction and conclusion sections since it is positioned high above the A10 motorway in Edmonton.
Additionally Great Cambridge roundabout is a publically used location which meant that we would have no jurisdictions that would prevent us from using this location.
In order to
improve our portfolio we used our experience from our
previous day of filming in the cemetery. My colleagues and I thought
that it would have been more effective if we filmed more clips in different parts
in the cemetery rather than using the same settings that we used last time.
We also incorporated
different camera angles in order to collect a variety of different imagery in
the cemetery as well as to convey different representations.
We did not to
just simply repeat the filming process which we carried out the previous time
we filmed in the cemetery as we realized that there were a few things we could
have improved on.
The lyrics of
the original song helped us to gain a better perspective of what type of scenes
we should film for our music video.
An example of
this would be the lyric "Here today, gone tomorrow, but you don't have to
walk no thousand miles".
We filmed a shot
of Leyon walking down a very narrow walk path to be presented with this lyric.
This lyric relates to this footage since the character is shown walking a very
long distance.
We also include
a wide angle shot of Leyon's character crouching in front of a grave with a
large statue. This connotes how the protagonist is very close to his own death
as he is considering suicide.
